Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. – February 28, 2005 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: Allied Quick Print Increases Productivity with POLAR 66 Cutter from Heidelberg Allied Quick Print, located in Elkridge, Md., recently added a POLAR 66 cutter to its bindery. Since the installation, productivity has increased by 30 percent, and the shop has expanded its client base. Founded in 1984, Allied Quick Print is a small, family-owned and operated general commercial printer. The shop services a local clientele of small and mid-size businesses in various industries. Apex Commercial Printing Improves Workflow with Prosetter 74 Apex Commercial Printing of Atlanta, recently installed a Prosetter 74 with computer-to-plate software in order to fulfill customer demand and upgrade its prepress department. Currently, the new platesetter is creating plates for the shop’s previously existing Speedmaster SM 74 and Printmaster PM 52 sheetfed presses at a rate of 200 plates per month. Since the installation of the new prepress equipment, workflow has improved significantly, allowing the shop to double its volume. With seven full-time employees, Apex Commercial Printing is a small trade printer serving local and regional clients. Arco Ideas & Design Inc. Adds Quicksetter 300E from Heidelberg Arco Ideas & Design Inc. recently added a Quicksetter 300E to its prepress department. With the new system, the shop now reports running four-color work such as tri-fold brochures, note cards and book covers, with confidence. Based in Cartersville, Ga., Arco Ideas & Design is an award-winning, family-owned and operated commercial printer that has been in business for more than 25 years. The small shop does design work and printing for regional clients that include advertising agencies and financial institutions. Border Press Inc. Increases Productivity with Printmaster PM 52 Border Press Inc. of Brownsville, Texas, recently installed a four-color Printmaster PM 52 with perfector. The shop added the new press in order to meet growing customer demand for four-color work and since the installation, Border Press has expanded its capabilities and increased productivity. Currently, the shop is using the new press to print packaging materials, brochures, four-color envelopes and letterhead. In addition, the shop recently produced 10,000 five-signature program booklets in one day on the new press. Established in 1965, Border Press is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer servicing regional clients in the tourism and manufacturing industries. C & S Press Inc. Expands Capabilities with Speedmaster SM 74 C & S Press Inc. reports an increase in productivity with the installation of a six-color Speedmaster SM 74 sheetfed press with perfector, coater and prepress interface. Located in Orlando, Fla., C & S Press purchased its second Heidelberg press in order to expand capabilities. The coater on the new press has allowed the shop to address deficiencies, enhance its strengths and improve its turnaround on double-coated ink stocks. Founded in 1985, C & S Press is a high-quality, full-service corporate printer that has experienced notable growth annually since 2001. Cornerstone Copy Center Installs Quickmaster DI-46 ProSpot Cornerstone Copy Center, a small commercial print shop located in Burnsville, Minn., recently installed its first Heidelberg press, a Quickmaster DI-46 ProSpot, to meet increased customer demand to produce full-color print runs. Currently, Cornerstone Copy Center uses the new press to produce projects ranging from brochures to letterhead to packaged marketing materials. Goellner Printing Inc. Installs New Printmaster QM 46 from Heidelberg Goellner Printing Inc., located in Saint Charles, Mo., recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46. The new Printmaster QM 46 is the first press that the shop has purchased from Heidelberg. Since the installation of the new press several months ago, productivity within the shop has increased by 30 percent. Goellner Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that specializes in printing newsletters and menus. Currently, the shop is using the new press to produce full-color-process fly sheets, business cards and real estate folders. Goodcopy Printing & Digital Graphics Adds Printmaster QM 46 Goodcopy Printing & Digital Graphics of New Haven, Conn., recently added a two-color Printmaster QM 46 in order to increase production. The new press joins an existing five-color Speedmaster SM 52 on the pressroom floor and is being used to produce newsletters, envelopes and business cards. Goodcopy Printing & Digital Graphics is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that has been in business for more than 37 years. The shop services Fortune 500 companies located across the nation as well as local retail businesses. K & M Printing Co. Upgrades Equipment with Two POLAR Cutters K & M Printing Co., located in Schaumberg, Ill., recently added two POLAR 115X cutters to its bindery. The shop is using the new postpress equipment it finish brochures, point-of-purchase materials, fliers and manuals. Upon upgrading their POLAR cutters, the shop has eliminated maintenance costs. K & M Printing has been in business for more than 30 years. The family-owned shop houses 70 employees and services local and national clients including healthcare organizations, academic institutions and industrial corporations. Lithographic Communications Reduces Costs with Heidelberg Consumables Lithographic Communications, LLC, a Munster, Ind.-based general commercial printer, reports that by using high-quality, value-added Heidelberg consumables, it has reduced its labor and material costs and improved productivity. The shop has been a Heidelberg equipment and consumables customer for more than two years. Currently, Lithographic Communications, LLC uses Heidelberg Saphira Violet aluminum plates and chemistry with the Heidelberg Prosetter 74 and Raptor Pro S 68 plate processor it installed in April of 2004. The company values the Prosetter 74 for its consistency, ease of use, durability and speed. Lithographic Communications, LLC has 48 employees and annual sales of more than $5.5 million. Increases Productivity with POLAR Transomat Since the recent installation of a new POLAR Transomat from Heidelberg, Print Direction Inc. has increased production by 30 percent and eliminated a bottle-neck in its bindery. In addition, the shop now has the flexibility to cut thicker paper stock and maximize availability of equipment. Currently, the new postpress equipment is being used to finish point-of-purchase materials, brochures, posters and service-oriented fulfillment packages. Print Direction is a well-rounded print shop based in Norcross, Ga. that has been in business for more than 21 years. PrintingForLess.com Adds GTO Press from Heidelberg PrintingForLess.com, based in Livingston, Mont., recently added a two-color GTO sheetfed press in order to transfer projects from its existing equipment. Currently, the company is using the new press to produce customized brochures and train new employees. Founded in 1996, PrintingForLess.com is a privately-owned, online full-color printing service. With 115 employees, PrintingForLess.com sells a variety of products nationwide to a large customer base, consisting mainly of small businesses. Ryan Printing Improves Workflow in Bindery with Heidelberg Postpress Equipment Ryan Printing, located in Blauvelt, N.Y., recently installed a POLAR Transomat, Jogger and Stacklift and a Stalhfolder B-20 with continuous feeder and scoring attachments to its bindery. In addition, the shop added a bookstacker to an existing Stitchmaster ST 90. All of the equipment was installed in order to keep up with customer demand and is being used to finish small postcards and brochures. Founded in 1992, Ryan Printing is a mid-size general commercial printer that services regional clients in various industries. Since the installation, the shop reports that the workflow in the bindery has improved significantly. T & N Printing Inc. Installs Printmaster QM 46 T & N Printing Inc. of Charlottesville, Va., recently added a two-color Printmaster QM 46 to its pressroom. Currently, the new press is being used to print brochures, envelopes, catalogs and business cards. Since the installation, the shop reports increased makeready and improved quality of products. Founded in 1982, T & N Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that houses 18 employees and serves local clients such as healthcare organizations, advertising agencies and large corporations.
