Sappi announces Price Increase for all Coated Papers as of April 2005

Brussels - Sappi Fine Paper Europe will increase prices for Woodfree Coated Paper both sheets and reels and Mechanical Coated Paper sheets by € 50/ton. Prices for Mechanical Coated Paper in reels (LWC and MWC) will be raised by € 30/ton. The new prices will become effective for deliveries as of 1 April for all European and Overseas markets. The company is confident about further growth of consumption of coated fine paper as prospects for advertising and print media in 2005 are very positive. "It is now time to definitely correct prices," says Wolfgang Pfarl, CEO of Sappi Europe, referring also to rapidly rising costs of raw materials, energy and transport.
