Xerox and van Glintenkamp at PMA

Press release from the issuing company

Xerox Corporation is reproducing artwork by Rik van Glintenkamp on the Xerox 8160 Wide Format Printer at the PrintImage International (The National Association of Quick Printers) / Photo Marketing Association International (PMA) Convention and Trade Show in Orlando, Fla. van Glintenkamp will be autographing his artwork in the Xerox booth throughout the show. van Glitenkamp authored Echoes in the Ice, a collection of collages featuring diaries, letters, maps, drawings, paintings and photographs of Antarctic explorers and their expeditions printed on the Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press.  His collages on Antarctic exploration have been exhibited at the Scott Polar Research Institute at Cambridge University, England; the Royal Geographical Society, London, and at numerous museums and research and science centers in the United States and Canada. The 2004 Gold Ink Awards, sponsored by NAPCO Publishing's Printing Impressions and PrintMedia magazines, recognized Xerox and Tucker Printers, the company that produced the book, with a gold award for Echoes in the Ice. The Xerox 8160 Wide Format Printer is a color wide-format inkjet printing system that is up to two-and-a-half times faster than the closest competitive products in its class, yet it is easier and less expensive to operate. It prints widths of up to 60 inches to create banners, posters and other large documents. While other systems can produce high-speed proofs, the Xerox 8160 is faster in the speed setting required for final, saleable-quality prints - printing at 150 square feet per hour. The closest comparable system operates at 60 square feet per hour. Xerox will also feature the DocuColor(tm) 3535 and Phaser(tm) 8400 Color Printer at PII/PMA, Feb. 20-23, at the Orange County Convention Center, booth #5651.
