GMC Software Technology Announces Major Release Of PrintNet T Triple Suite Software

Press release from the issuing company

February 14, 2005 – Appenzell, Switzerland and Boston, MA – GMC Software Technology today announced its newest release of PrintNet T Triple Suite software, providing the industry’s most complete end-to-end solution for high-volume variable data composition for transaction, promotional and on-demand document production applications. “GMC is fully committed to providing customers with the best quality products and services possible,” said Rene Mueller, CEO of GMC Software AG. “This latest release vigorously responds to changing market needs such as emerging Web Services environments, an ever expanding variety of digital output devices, and increasing need for integrated document capabilities across the enterprise. This newest version clearly puts GMC in the forefront by delivering solutions that keep pace with the constantly evolving marketplace.” Among the most significant features and functionality introduced in this newest release are expanded capabilities to increase the ease with which PrintNet T can be integrated into enterprise applications. This includes support for J2EE web services environments including leading communication protocols, IBM Websphere and Microsoft .NET Message Queue Server (MSMQ). New XML schema support allows easy mapping of XML data fields and data structures to improve the link between variable document composition and data sources. New support for SAP RDI data input gives PrintNet T added value in enterprises that rely on SAP applications to run key business functions. The new release also includes direct integration with Mediabin digital asset management (DAM) systems, streamlining the ways companies can use their data assets as content in variable documents. The new release also expands PrintNet’s traditional ease of use an extensive range of new capabilities. Comprehensive message management and tracking, workspace management, and rights management capabilities help administrators more effectively control user access and enable collaborative work and development of documents. As document ownership expands across departments and functionality, these new capabilities address the need for solutions that help integrate document development involving multiple users in multiple departments, such as Marketing, IT and Print Production. Scripted impositioning now enables sheet imposition to be driven by business rules, eliminating trial and error efforts requiring expensive, time-consuming proofing steps. A script library allows users to store and share business rules across multiple workflows, avoiding the redundancy of creating the same application multiple times for different data streams. COBOL copybook support gives advanced users greater ease in developing applications based on legacy data. Expanded output capabilities include Nexpress VDX support, HP SVG support and simultaneous multi-protocol output support, in response to the wider variety of devices and delivery channels encountered in today’s digital delivery environments. As a provider of enterprise level software solutions and services, GMC Software Technology offers a broad range of document design, composition and production solutions for the financial, insurance, energy, utilities, commercial print and direct mail industries. GMC products are based on open standards and specifications to ensure full compatibility with customer and partner technology and architectural requirements.
