DSI Direct Sales Inc. Buys a Speedmaster CD 74 Perfector

Press release from the issuing company

AKRON, OH, Feb. 11 - DSDI's wholly owned subsidiary, Digital Color Imaging (DCI) took notice of Heidelberg's new Speedmaster CD 74 Perfector at Drupa 2004, the international printing graphics show, and decided to add the Six-Color Model Plus Coater. DCI became the first company in North America to install this state of the art press. The new computer driven CD 74 handles a full 23"x29" sheet and easily handles sheets from .002" up to .032" in thickness at up to 15,000 impressions per hour. The CD 74 Perfector has the ability to print both sides of a sheet in a single pass, with the flexibility to run anything from lightweight papers to 32 point board, with no restriction on the maximum running speed. DCI's CD 74 has a coater module which dries the job immediately, and has computer controlled robotic ink loaders that reduce our ink costs by about 20%. It also has a continuous loading system that eliminates typical downtime during sheet loading. These are all important features as we frequently print covers for annual reports, high-profile corporate materials, pocket folders, and small point-of-sale pieces that generally use heavier stocks. The unit is ideal for DCI's handling of a wide range of printing stocks, as well as competing in the demanding world of packaging and label production characterized by shorter run lengths and the need for fast job turnaround. With the CD 74, DCI has reduced its job turnaround by approximately 50% versus prior technology. "The Heidelberg CD74 has raised our quality levels," said Dave Welner, CEO. "The six-up format put us squarely in the middle of the market and allows us to compete with 40" printers on our own terms. A lot of them have paper waste and other costs, but our investment is half of theirs, and we need only two people to operate the press. We're reaping the rewards of labor savings, plus increased speed, capacity and productivity. I firmly believe that we are now positioned to more than double our sales." DSDI would like to take this opportunity to announce a pending Investor Awareness Program that complements the developments that have taken place within DSI Direct Sales Inc. that will further the public's awareness of DSDI. The company is pleased to announce they are in negotiations with an International Investor Relations Group and hopes to have a final contract with them in the near future.
