Press release from the issuing company

FORT LEE, NJ - February 8, 2005 -- Sun Chemical announced today that Michael S. Murphy has resigned as president of its North American Inks division, which spans the United States, Canada and Mexico. “Mike has chosen to resign for personal reasons,” said Wes Lucas, chairman, president and CEO of Sun Chemical. “Mike has been a leader in the ink industry for over 33 years, and has been a valuable executive for Sun Chemical, leading its North American operations since 1997. He also has been recognized as an industry leader by his peers, and has been a director of numerous industry associations, including the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM), the Gravure Association of America and the Flexible Packaging Association.” Lucas added: “Everyone in Sun Chemical wishes Mike much success in his new endeavors outside of Sun Chemical and thank him for all his contributions and service to Sun Chemical.” Murphy began his career at Sun Chemical as a financial analyst, and has held positions of increasing responsibility up to president of the North American Inks division. He was promoted to vice president in 1989 and was named a corporate vice president in 1992, responsible for U.S. operations. In 2000, he was elected president of NAPIM, and subsequently received NAPIM’s Ault Award, the ink industry’s highest honor, in 2004. Lucas said he will assume primary operations responsibility until a new North American Inks president is named. This will include the North American Packaging and Publication business units, Kohl & Madden and Coates Screen, as well as the North American Customer Service Centers, and Sun Chemical’s operations in Canada and Mexico.
