John Dangelmaier confirmed as PrintCity President

February 9, 2005 -- John Dangelmaier, a respected figure in the printing industry for more than 40 years, has been officially confirmed as the President of PrintCity in a unanimous show of support. Members have voted for him to continue in the role he has held for the last five years as one of the founding figures in the strategic alliance that had the biggest hall at Drupa last year. Mr Dangelmaier has attended each of the last 10 Drupa exhibitions. Rainer Kuhn, Managing Director of PrintCity, said: “I couldn’t ask for a better person to work alongside. John is totally enthusiastic about the targets and ideals of PrintCity, gives 100% commitment and displays sound judgement.” Josef Aumiller, who is Head of Product Marketing Webfed Presses for MAN Roland, will continue as PrintCity Vice-President. He said: “John has been an eminently respected person in the printing industry for decades and we are more than happy he will continue, having played a pivotal role since day one before drupa 2000.” Mr Dangelmaier has spent the last 22 years in Paris as Vice-President and President of PrintCity member MEGTEC, the company that supplies equipment for web offset printing, web coating, packaging, paper & tissue and other industrial markets. Mr Dangelmaier said: “Many people have shown true team spirit to build on the partnerships to make PrintCity into the world-respected alliance it has become. Together with the whole team, including the Advisory Board and project managers, we can achieve a lot in the future. “PrintCity is contributing actively to the success of the printing industry through some world-acclaimed initiatives and the networking between suppliers to achieve better productivity with some extremely positive results, such as our recent seminar in Moscow.” He added: “I am honoured to be part of the next phase of PrintCity – we have many exciting plans around the corner.”
