Chuckwalla Selected by Quad/Graphics to Provide Digital Asset Management Services

Press release from the issuing company

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 8 -- Chuckwalla Inc., a leading developer of enterprise digital asset management (DAM) technology that manages rich content across multiple communication channels, today announced that Quad/Graphics, a leading printer of magazines and catalogs, will use Chuckwalla v5 to power Quad/Library, its digital content management system. Chuckwalla v5 will provide Quad/Graphics clients with centralized storage for better content management and enable faster content reuse and re-purposing, reduced cycle time and increased security for shared content. Chuckwalla participated in a competitive six-month pilot program beating out all rival enterprise DAM vendors. Quad/Graphics is the largest privately held printer of magazines, catalogs and other commercial products in the world, and the third largest printer in the Western Hemisphere. Quad/Graphics customers include "National Geographic," "Business Week," and "Sports Illustrated," among others. "We have an IT group that researches technologies and software applications that reduce production times and costs for our customers," said Jim Mercier, director of imaging for Quad/Imaging, a division of Quad/Graphics. "The Quad/Imaging IT group selected Chuckwalla v5 to power the Quad/Library because it offers the best business benefits to our clients. We believe that teaming with Chuckwalla will extend our leadership in the publishing industry by providing the most comprehensive digital asset management platform available." Chuckwalla provides hosted enterprise DAM solutions that enable organizations to control and organize rich content such as layouts, text and image elements, audio and video, and accelerate their delivery to mission-critical Web, print, and wireless applications. Based on Microsoft.NET, Chuckwalla's open and scalable environment is used in many enterprises to meet today's multi-channel challenges -- marketing/branding, publishing, retail, and e-learning. "We are honored that Chuckwalla v5 has be selected for use by one of the most technically advanced printing companies in the world," said Jon Lewis, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Chuckwalla, Inc. "The power of Chuckwalla will now be available to Quad/Graphics' impressive clientele enabling them to easily search, re-purpose and reuse digital assets for their multi-channel publishing needs. We look forward to a long and collaborative relationship with Quad."
