KENNESAW, Ga., January 18, 2005 – In an effort to meet customer demand for aqueous coating and perfecting capabilities, Specialty Printing, a high-volume direct mail print shop located in Niles, Ill., recently installed a six-color Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 102 press with coater and perfector. The Speedmaster SM 102 joins a long tradition of Heidelberg machinery at Specialty Printing. President Adam M. LeFebvre said the new press enables the shop to extend its coating capabilities and serve clients more completely. With the new press, Specialty Printing anticipates expanding its sheetfed operation to increase sales to the end user. The shop also has a Speedmaster 102 that has been in use since 1996. “Heidelberg plays an important role in our ability to be a one-stop shop for clients,” said LeFebvre. “We started receiving requests from clients for aqueous coating and Heidelberg’s SM 102 with coater was the obvious solution. We were very happy with our existing press, but we needed to upgrade due to increased market demand. The new Drupa 2004 model presses are available with a host of new features, including enhanced cylinder surfaces for even higher quality in both straight and perfecting modes. The new Plus feeder system incorporates an innovative suction-belt design which allows even faster setup, and increase net output.
