January 13, 2005 -- Tom Quadracci, Quad/Graphics' new Chairman & CEO, has been honored as a new member of the Society of Fellows by the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF). The award honors industry leaders for their contributions to the progress of the foundation and its affiliates, the Graphics Communications Council and Graphics Scholarship Foundation, and those who have rendered meritorious service to the graphic communications industries. Tom was one of 13 new members inducted by the PIA/GATF at an awards banquet held November 12, 2004, in Atlanta. "It’s gratifying to be recognized by an organization that does such great work for the industry," Tom said. "I’m especially pleased to be able to support efforts that promote educational programs for careers in printing." "Tom has always demonstrated a strong desire to forge links between secondary and post-secondary educational systems and the workforce," said a PIA/GATF spokesperson. "He has supported industry organizations such as PIA/GATF and the Web Offset Association over the years, encouraging attendance by Quad/Graphics’ management team. Tom, Quad/Graphics and the Windhover Foundation have supported numerous secondary school programs as well as funding the Harry V. Quadracci Printing and Graphics Center situated within the Waukesha County (Wis.) Technical College." The PIA/GATF is the world’s largest graphic arts trade association, representing an industry with more than 1.2 million employees. Located in Sewickley, Penn., the organization serves the interests of more than 12,000 member companies.
