Graphic Communications Authority Frank Romano to Speak at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO - Frank Romano, a leading authority on how market and technology forces impact the graphic communication industry, will provide a public presentation at Cal Poly on Jan. 19, at 8 p.m., in Room 209, of the University Union. Mr. Romano will discuss technology trends that influence printing and publishing markets. The event is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts, the Graphic Communication Department, Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Alumni Chapter, and the Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly. “We are very excited to have Frank Romano speak at Cal Poly. He is the leading authority on how market forces and industry trends impact graphic communication,” said Malcolm Keif, acting department head of the Graphic Communication Department. Romano’s career spans more than 40 years in the printing and publishing industries. He is the author of 40 books, founder of eight publications, and is serving as editor and/or publisher of several printing and publishing publications. Prior to Mr. Romano’s presentation, Graphic Communication alumni are invited to attend a complimentary reception. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m., in the Graphic Arts building, room 209. These types of events allow us to continue to provide valuable and timely industry information, from industry leaders, to our Graphics Communication alumni,” said Keif.
