Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. –December 20, 2004 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: Alphagraphics Gains Efficiency With New Printmaster QM 46 Atlanta, Ga.-based Alphagraphics reports that since installing a new two-color Printmaster QM 46, efficiency within the shop has increased significantly. Alphagraphics is using the new press to produce letterhead, brochures, envelopes and business cards for a variety of customers, including the corporate headquarters of various businesses and Fortune 1000 companies. Alphagraphics is a family-owned and operated quick printer that has been in business for 11 years. Complete Printing Services Adds Speedmaster SM 74, Prepress Equipment Complete Printing Services, located in Marietta, Ga., recently added a six-color Speedmaster SM 74 with coater and computer-to-plate technology in order to keep up with the latest trends in technology. The new equipment is being used to produce, among other things, pocket and presentation folders, booklets and envelopes. The family-owned and operated general commercial printer reports that the new equipment has reduced makeready times and increased productivity within the shop. Founded in 1988, Complete Printing Services houses 32 employees and services local clients such as UPS, Gables Residential and Kimberly-Clark. Copyco Solutions Installs New Quickmaster DI 46-4 Pro Copyco Solutions, based in Des Plaines, Ill., recently installed a Quickmaster DI 46-4 Pro. The new press is being used to produce newsletters, brochures and labels at an average of 5,000 impressions per hour. Since the installation, Copyco has shifted the majority of its four-color work from an existing Komori press to the new Quickmaster DI. In addition, the shop has expanded its client base and experienced a significant increase in productivity. Copyco is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that currently houses 45 employees. Digital Printing Center Installs Two New Presses, Prepress Equipment Digital Printing Center, Inc., recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46, a Quickmaster DI 46-4 Pro and a Quicksetter 300E in order to fulfill customer demand. The short-run on-demand digital print shop is currently producing postcards, brochures and training materials with the new equipment at a rate of 10,000 impressions per hour and has succeeded in expanding its range of services and increasing production. Digital Printing Center is based in Chicago, Ill., and services local clients such as architectural engineering and contracting firms, real estate companies and advertising agencies. This recent installation marks the first time that the shop has purchased Heidelberg equipment. Entire Printing Doubles Capacity With New Press, Prepress Equipment Entire Printing, located in Santa Clara, Calif., recently added a Printmaster PM 52, a Prosetter 74 and a Pro 68 plate processor. Since the installation, the shop has noted significant increases in efficiency and productivity, printing capacity has doubled and makeready has been reduced. Entire Printing, a small general commercial printer, has been in business for more than one year and has recorded $2 million in sales. J & M Finishing Increases Productivity With Stitchmaster ST 270 J & M Finishing, an all-Heidelberg trade binder located in Long Island City, N.Y., recently installed a four-pocket Stitchmaster ST 270 saddlestitcher with cover feeder to increase production and versatility. Currently, the shop is using the new Heidelberg equipment to produce a wide array of high-quality products, including pamphlets, presentation materials and educational booklets for local clients ranging from large commercial printers to small conventional shops. Since the installation in April, J & M Finishing has increased its overall production by 33 percent while continuing to deliver quality results to its customers. Marketplace Direct Installs Printmaster QM 46 Marketplace Direct, Inc., of McKees Rocks, Pa., reports increased production and faster makeready with the recent installation of a two-color Printmaster QM-46. In addition, the new press increased flexibility and expanded capabilities within the shop to include four-color work. Marketplace Direct is a mid-size direct mail firm that services regional customers such as banks, non-profit organizations and financial corporations. The privately-owned shop has been using the Printmaster QM 46 to produce letters, postcards, letterhead and announcement notices at 10,000 sheets per hour. Perfect Image Printing Improves Workflow Process With Prosetter 102 Perfect Image Printing, located in Marietta, Ga., recently added a Prosetter 102 to its prepress department. The new system is being used to create marketing collateral, newsletters, brochures and annual reports. Since the installation, the workflow process at Perfect Image Printing has become more efficient and the shop has eliminated the use of film. The family-owned and operated general commercial printer services regional clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in various industries. Quantum Color Graphics Expands Capabilities with Speedmaster CD 102 Quantum Color Graphics, LLC, a high-end commercial print shop located in Chicago, recently added an eight-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater and extended delivery to its pressroom. The all-Heidelberg shop is using the new press to produce general commercial work on materials that range from paper and plastic to vinyl and foil. With its first long press, the shop has penetrated additional markets and led its existing customers into new areas of print production. Established in 1992, Quantum Color Graphics has a substantial customer base that spans the country and includes advertising agencies, graphic design firms and Fortune 500 companies. Printograph Adds New Polar 115 Cutter Printograph, Inc., of Burbank, Calif., recently updated its equipment with a Polar 115 cutter. The shop runs the system 10 to 12 hours a day to finish brochures, catalogs and postcards. With more than 10 years of experience in the printing industry, Printograph is a family-owned and operated trade printer that houses 30 employees. The shop services a diverse client base ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Shapco Printing Installs Prinect Printready Prepress Workflow Shapco Printing, a Minneapolis-based mid-size commercial printer, recently installed Prinect Printready 2.0 and Signa Station 1.0. The company serves a primarily local clientele made up of graphic designers, ad agencies, corporate marketing departments and retail customers, for whom it turns out a variety of extremely high-end work including posters, lithographs and calendars, projects requiring fine line screens, eight-color work with conventional presses on difficult substrates, advanced stochastic screening, and more. Established in 1976, Shapco has been a loyal Heidelberg customer for 15 years. Sir Speedy Automates Bindery With Polar 66 Cutter Sir Speedy of Santa Monica, Calif., has automated its postpress processes with the recent installation of a Polar 66 cutter. Currently, the shop is using the new equipment to finish postcards, business cards and stationery. Sir Speedy is a small quick print shop that houses four employees and services local clients such as advertising agencies and graphic design firms. Specialty Printing Adds Speedmaster SM 102, Postpress Equipment Specialty Printing, based in Niles, Ill., recently installed a Speedmaster SM 102 with coater and perfector and three Polar cutters in order to meet increasing customer demand. The shop is using the new equipment to produce credit card inserts, self-mailers, postcards and reply cards. Specialty Printing is a large, family-owned and operated high-volume direct mail firm that houses 150 employees and services and nationwide client base. Winthrop Printing Adds Postpress Equipment From Heidelberg Winthrop Printing, located in Boston, Mass., reports a 25 percent increase in production with the recent installation of a jogger, a transomat and a cutter from Heidelberg. Currently, the shop is using the equipment to finish brochures, direct mail pieces and pocket folders. With more than 80 years of experience in the printing industry, Winthrop Printing is a large family-owned and operated general commercial printer serving a varied clientele that includes graphic design firms, universities and financial institutions.
