Vertis Announces Gary Sutula As CIO

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 7, 2005) – Vertis, Inc., the premier provider of targeted advertising, media, and marketing services, today announced that Gary Sutula has joined Vertis as chief information officer. “We are committed to remain on the leading edge of information technology and the application of advanced digital solutions throughout Vertis,” said Dean Durbin, president and chief operating officer. “With more than 20 years experience as a leader in information technology, I am confident that Gary will work well with me and the entire Vertis team to keep us at the forefront of information and digital technology.” Sutula has extensive experience managing large-scale IT projects and initiatives. In his previous positions he led the development of systems that both improved internal efficiencies and created new business opportunities by improving the products and services offered to customers. Prior to joining Vertis, Sutula most recently helped build gLimit, a start-up company, and worked as a strategic consultant for Electrolux. He served as chief information officer at R.R. Donnelley for five years, where he led the development of the company’s first information technology strategic plan. In addition, Sutula held CIO positions at American Savings Bank and Transamerica Financial Services and senior management positions at First Interstate Bank.
