Yupo Showcases Restaurant Applications At Beverage & Food Show 2005

Press release from the issuing company

CHESAPEAKE, VA (February 27, 2005) - Yupo Corporation America, the largest manufacturer of synthetic papers in the Western Hemisphere, presented its full range of unique substrates for food and beverage applications at the Beverage & Food Convention and Trade Show 2005, February 27 - March 2, 2005, Las Vegas, NV. For the first time at this show, owners, managers, promotion directors, designers, and marketing professionals in the hospitality and restaurant industries experienced award-wining menus, coasters, flyers, posters, brochures, and other promotional materials created on versatile YUPO paper. In the hospitality industry, ambiance and atmosphere are key in building and retaining clientele. Restaurant menus are a way of extending the look and feel of an establishment. A menu helps create a first impression and conveys the value and quality of what to expect. Tactile feel, the use of type, color, intriguing graphics, and special printing techniques don't go unnoticed with today's sophisticated restaurant guest. The "XYZ Restaurant" and the "W café" in the W Hotel in San Francisco, CA, for example, are among the city's hot spots for locals as well as tourists. Guests choose their martinis and aperitifs from the signature cocktail catalog that contains colorful close-up photographs of frosted glasses, fancy cocktails, and happening bar scenes. The menus are printed on YUPO synthetic paper, which ensures not only that the graphics jump off the pages, but the menus do not loose their appeal over time. YUPO is a durable synthetic paper that combines the best attributes of film and natural paper. It is smooth, bright white, water proof, tear resistant and prints with razor edge precision. It is suitable for offset, litho, rotogravure, digital, and flexo printing processes and can be embossed, foil stamped, die-cut, perforated and engraved. YUPO is also 100% recyclable. Another example on display in Las Vegas is the Bartender's Guide To Rums of the World, a spiral bound, 44-page book printed on YUPO 58lb. cover stock. The guide offers a journey through the history, places and flavors of some of the world greatest rums and features over a hundred recipes for rum lovers. It is used behind the bar and serves as a handy and useful reference for bartenders. Water, ice, or syrup spills don't spoil the book thanks to the Yupo waterproof substrate. Additionally, the guide can be easily cleaned with soapy water. "Food and beverage applications printed on YUPO synthetic paper are ideal for any bar, nightclub, hotel, or restaurant that wants to place inviting offerings in the hands of their guests," says Paul Mitcham, Yupo Corporation's National Marketing Manager. "Over the years we see more and more companies in the hospitality and restaurant business use our product, and they all tell us how great their materials look, even after the wear and tear of everyday life in a restaurant or bar environment." YUPO is also the menu substrate of choice at the Charlie Brown's Steakhouse chain in New Jersey, Chili's restaurants in Puerto Rico, the Teatro Restaurant in Toronto, Canada and the Sugar dessert bar in Chicago, IL., to name a few.
