GBC Solutions Make Appearance at On Demand

Press release from the issuing company

Lincolnshire, IL, February, 2008 – GBC, a market leader, will showcase both near-line and off-line binding solutions and shredders at On Demand 2008. The equipment on display in GBC booth # 1467 is designed to fit every on-demand user's finishing and document protection needs.

Near-line finishing equipment, set next to the print engine, allows for high-speed, high volume, and streamlined document production. GBC offers include the labor saving GBC Quantum P70iX, a digital production punch with punching capabilities up to 60,000 sheets per hour. It is available with 14 different punch patterns. The AP-2 Ultra, an automatic punch, accommodates various paper stocks and sizes, offers 14 punch patterns and features an average capacity of 40,000 punched sheets per hour. With the high production Magnapunch, a user can choose between the standard table top trigger switch or foot pedal for punching production up to 40 sheets at a time or 40,000 sheets per hour. The desktop Magnapunch is available with interchangeable die sets to produce up to 17 different punch patterns.

The DigiCoil automated ColorCoil inserter will demonstrate the ease and speed of "spinning" the popular ColorCoil spine onto punched documents. The DigiCoil can be positioned near-line or off-line to bind books up to 33mm thick using assorted stocks, index tabs and oversized covers--all at speeds up to 450 books an hour.

The off-line GBC equipment featured in the booth is designed for lower volume production environments. These desktop systems offer fast binding and accurate results with a wide range of sheet capacities and operating methods. The ProClick Pronto P2000, bind only product, and ProClick Pronto P3000, all-in-one punch and bind unit, are automated desktop finishers using a fully editable ProClick spine. Users can manually edit documents quickly without a machine.

Other desktop binding models to be featured include the CC2700, PB2600 and TL2900. Each is specific to the style of binding the user requires. The CC2700 is an electric dual-roller system that inserts ColorCoil spines with ease and accuracy. Binding capacity is up to 1" thick or 265 sheets at a time. It also includes an easy-to-use crimper hand tool. The PB2600 is an electric high capacity CombBind finisher that can bind up to 300 presentations an hour in three quick steps. Its binding capacity is up to 2" thick or 425 sheets. The TL2900 is an electric, fast, high-volume finisher for wire binding. A dual load and crimp station eliminates the extra step of moving documents for loading. With a maximum binding length of 12" and capacity up to 250 sheets per load, the user can finish quickly and move to another job in the shop.

GBC will also be demonstrating the GBC ShredMaster 3000-7000 series shredders for the first time at On Demand. Print providers and corporations are on information security alert. Over-runs, make-readies, misprints or quality issues during printing are being shredded rather than tossed away to protect customer confidentiality. Printers cannot afford to lose valuable customer information pertaining to business or personal identity theft from increasing "dumpster-diving." At On Demand, GBC will feature four shredder models in the ShredMaster series to answer almost every production, capacity and security level required.
