Colorado Printing Streamlines Estimating and Reduces Costs with EFI PrinterSite Internal

Press release from the issuing company

Foster City, Calif. – Dec. 7, 2004 –Solutions from EFI are an important part of operationsat Colorado Printing Company, a large commercial printer in Grand Junction, Colo., which has been using EFI PrinterSiteInternal integrated with EFI HagenOA to realize increased efficiency and reduced operating costs. PrinterSite Internal provides field sales personnel and customer service representatives with secure, direct access to submit quote requests and obtain job status data from Hagen and EFI’s other Print MIS solutions. Colorado Printing’s 10 sales people have been using PrinterSite Internal for 18 months. With only three salespeople in the office and the rest working from remote locations, PrinterSite Internal has improved communication with the entire team, resulting in efficiency gains. “The efficiency of the outside sales force has greatly increased with PrinterSite Internal, since everyone can enter quotes from anywhere they have an Internet connection, and they have the ability to see the status of their jobs in real-time, to print invoices and quotes, and to e-mail contacts,” said Dan Thurlow, chairman of Colorado Printing Company. PrinterSite Internal simplifies and enhances the specifications process for print orders by eliminating faxing and double-entry, providing better quality input that results in improved productivity for estimators, greater profitability for the printer and better service for the customer. Said Thurlow, “Because of the discipline that is instilled in the quoting system by PrinterSite Internal, the estimating process is greatly simplified. Estimators look at 90 percent of our quotes, and send them to the customer with no further input. We had two full-time estimators when we installed PrinterSite Internal, we have experienced a 30 percent growth rate over the past year, and we still have two estimators with plenty of extra capacity. “PrinterSite Internal has increased throughput by adding efficiency to the sales force and estimating team, while decreasing costs. It’s been our best purchase over the past year,” Thurlow concludes. Marc Olin, VP/GM of Commercial Print Systems at EFI, said: “PrinterSite Internal is currently licensed by more than 70 large commercial print operations, but the application is suitable for printing companies of all sizes. Printers find thatgetting a complete, accurate quote back to the customer more quickly will increase their bid-to-win ratio. It’s very possible that if printers only get one more job each month as a result of putting in PrinterSite Internal, it will pay for itself.EFI will soon ship version 2.0, which will include a brand new user interface and more than 100 new features and enhancements.”
