Forbes Names Unisource Worldwide, Inc. One of America's Top Private Companies

Press release from the issuing company

NORCROSS, Ga.--Dec. 1, 2004-- Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, is ranked 21st among America's largest private companies in terms of total revenues, according to the November 29 issue of Forbes magazine, one of the premier business magazines in the world. With total revenues of $5.9 billion in 2003, Unisource is also the largest private company in Georgia, as ranked by Forbes. "We are pleased that Forbes continues to recognize Unisource among our country's largest private companies," said Al Dragone, CEO of Unisource. "This is a tribute to the hard work of our employees, who continue to launch initiatives that take full advantage of our national scale," he said. "These programs span across our strategic business units and further establish Unisource's position as an industry leader, responsive to marketplace changes and focused on meeting customer needs." Dragone, named CEO earlier this year, has engineered key changes at Unisource during 2004, appointing a new management team and organizing the company as three strategic business units: paper, packaging and facility supplies. This structure has allowed each unit to focus on its area of expertise and business strategy -- while also working with the other business segments and the company's internal supply chain organization -- to integrate markets and offer more creative, complete and cost-effective customer solutions.
