CENTREVILLE, Va.--Dec. 1, 2004-- Powerful new functionality has been added to the latest version of the DocuWorks document handling software as the result of a multi-year agreement, announced today, between Fuji Xerox and Global Graphics, the technology experts in open document and print solutions. In the initial phase of the agreement Global Graphics has utilized its Page Description Language (PDL) expertise to provide a customized version of its PDF technology to seamlessly integrate new PDF capabilities within the DocuWorks application. A close development partnership has resulted from the agreement under which Fuji Xerox has initially licensed Global Graphics' Jaws PDF Editor(TM) software development kit (SDK) for DocuWorks Version 6.0 which will ship from February 2005 and will be marketed to corporate users in Japan. Michinari Tanaka, General Manager, Service Software Development, Office Products Business Group, at Fuji Xerox Co.,Ltd. "Until now we had been offering DocuWorks with its proprietary file format to promote our multi-function devices and electronic documents in the general office market. We saw the opportunity to broaden the appeal of our application by offering the industry standard PDF document format. We have chosen Global Graphics as our PDF partner because of their extensive PDF technology, experience, and flexible support, knowing that we could achieve our objective with them. We are expecting a successful future partnership with Global Graphics as we work together to develop technology to further increase the product value of DocuWorks".
