Vertis Announces Joe Scott As Senior Vice President Of Sales, North America

BALTIMORE, MD. (November 17, 2004) – Vertis, the premier provider of targeted advertising, media, and marketing services, today announced the appointment of Joe Scott as senior vice president, sales, for North America. Scott will lead all Vertis sales in North America, continuing Vertis’ evolution to be even more responsive to clients’ needs, and to grow new business for the company’s integrated solution. “With client and marketplace demands for more effective marketing messages and more efficient advertising production, it is extremely important that we deliver value-added solutions to our customers—solutions that set them apart from the competition,” said Dean Durbin, president of Vertis. “Joe’s 30 years of experience in the information technology services industry will assist him in leading Vertis’ unified sales team to introduce advanced technologies and creative resources that provide clients with more strategic targeted marketing.” Prior to joining Vertis, Scott was director of global strategic outsourcing sales competency for IBM. In this position, he was responsible for managing major full-solution sales to clients such as Goodyear, Novartis, Ford, Texaco, Pharmacia, Monsanto and Georgia Pacific. Joe has also held senior sales leadership positions at Mellon Information Services, Litton Computer Services, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), and Genix Enterprises, managing large global sales ranging from $100 million to over $1 billion. Scott will manage both Vertis’ regional sales teams and the vertical market segments, which include automotive, nonprofit, insurance and financial, as well as support existing market segments with integrated targeted solutions.
