Howell to Join Weyerhaeuser Federal Affairs Office

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., Nov. 16 -- Weyerhaeuser Company today announced that Andrea Howell, 32, has been named manager, Federal Affairs, effective Dec. 1. She will relocate to Washington, D.C., where she will work with Congressional members and their staffs, agencies and associations. Howell will report to Heidi Biggs Brock, vice president of Federal and International Affairs. Howell began her Weyerhaeuser career in 1995 as a public affairs associate in Longview, Wash. She held numerous other positions prior to serving as a state government affairs and communications manager in Washington, a role she has held since 2002. "Andrea has comprehensive state government affairs experience, having worked successfully with elected officials, agency personnel, state associations and lobbyists," Brock said. "She also brings with her extensive experience working with business managers within Weyerhaeuser to effectively advance our company's position in the legislative, regulatory and communications areas." Howell earned a bachelor of science in agriculture, with a focus on natural resources communications, from Washington State University. She also is a graduate of the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education program.
