Waynick Book Group Launches New Imprints

Press release from the issuing company

Nashville, Tenn. Feb 15 2008 – Waynick Book Group, the parent company of leading gardening publisher Cool Springs Press, is turning a new page in its business by launching three additional imprints: CPO Publishing, C Guides Media and Common Thread Media.  The imprints will publish nonfiction titles respectively geared toward life events, college campus living, and ethics and morality, according to Roger Waynick, president of Waynick Book Group.

CPO Publishing will release the first title among the new imprints, Just Ask Mom, in April. Waynick Book Group plans to launch more than 70 new books in 2008 under its four imprints.

"Our success with Cool Springs Press inspired our decision to expand," said Waynick.  "We built that imprint by focusing intensely on gardeners and understanding their interests, concerns and challenges.  We will take the same approach with our new imprints by targeting topics that are important to today's readers, from homemaking to spiritual awakening."

Waynick attributes much of his company's success and growth to a strategic distribution and sales relationship with Ingram Publisher Services. A business unit of Ingram Book Group, Ingram Publisher Services is a full-service distribution company providing sales and fulfillment to more than 70 independent publishers.

"Ingram Publisher Services' expertise in distribution has proved an invaluable asset to Waynick Book Group. That knowledge combined with our publishing experience has given us a competitive advantage and helped us position Waynick as an industry leader," said Waynick.

He said in today's ever-evolving world of publishing, it is critical to produce books that appeal to very specific groups of readers, such as gardeners, cooks or college students.

"Ingram Publisher Services is a client-focused distribution company," said Ingram Publisher Services President Phil Ollila.  "Through a close working partnership with Waynick Book Group we have helped develop a distribution platform that will help both companies grow for years to come."

Waynick Book Group imprints include:

CPO Publishing focuses on universal life events —births, marriages, family issues, transitions. Each title provides real-world recommendations and resources for celebrating the good times and working through rough patches.  Scheduled for an April release, CPO's first title, Just Ask Mom, is a practical and warm-hearted encyclopedia of sage motherly advice—from navigating laundry to cooking and cleaning tips.

C Guides Media produces campus-specific guides to navigating life outside the classroom of major U.S. colleges and universities. Practical, tip-laden books on everything from nearby physicians and grocers to what to do after a fender-bender, C Guides are penned by in-the-know students with the goal of putting incoming students – and their parents – at ease.

Common Thread Media seeks to help faith flourish by exploring spirituality in all its forms. Titles share authors' personal experiences as they relate matters of faith and life and seek to motivate and inspire individuals to reclaim their spiritual vitality and inspire others.

Cool Springs Press has been the national leader in publishing state and region specific gardening guides since its inception in 1996. The unique business strategy provides targeted advice specific to where gardeners live, plant and grow.  The imprint currently has a library of more than 250 titles and 125 authors.
