MAR Graphics Purchases Nipson VaryPress 400

Press release from the issuing company

(Elk Grove Village, IL)  November 11, 2004 – MAR Graphics of Valmeyer, Illinois recently purchased a Nipson VaryPress 400 digital production press to be integrated inline with a Hunkeler Variweb finishing line. This acquisition will help the full service direct mail, forms, and labels company handle increased printing volumes as well as streamline operations.  The VaryPress / Variweb integrated line will give the company flexibility to print variable data, integrate cards, glue, die cut, fold, and mail in one integrated process.  Variweb’s modular construction combined with Nipson’s highly versatile magnetographic printing gives MAR Graphics a highly versatile print/production line. They will now be able to produce complex ready-to-ship self-mailers from a pre-printed roll of paper in one non-stop process. MAR Graphics will be the first print and fulfillment operation in the United States to install an integrated print and finishing line with this degree of flexibility, which will speed turn-around times and streamline production.  A family-owned business founded in 1961 with 94 employees, the company specializes in direct mail, digital variable imaging, forms, and labels and sells its services through distributors nationwide. “Offering our customers more sophisticated products while streamlining our operation is our goal with this installation,” states Rick Roever, president of MAR Graphics. “Nipson is a true production press that offers the flexibility and throughput that we need to work in conjunction with our entire operation.” The VaryPress’s unique high-speed and variable controls allow operation in line with traditional offset presses as well as in multiple stand-alone configurations.  Printing high-quality 600 dpi output at up to 410 ft. /min. (125 meters/min.), the Nipson VaryPress 400 is the true high-volume workhorse of the digital printing world. With its productivity, quality, and flexibility, the VaryPress is the ideal system for high-volume variable printing applications. “Nipson is pleased to be working with MAR Graphics where the VaryPress will fully demonstrate the benefits of its speed, print quality, and, flexibility integrated within complex finishing solutions,” states Alain Flament, president of Nipson America.
