Creo Customers Recognized with 2004 Sappi Awards

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- November 4, 2004 -- Creo is proud to congratulate the recent winners at the Sappi International Printer of the Year awards in Cape Town, South Africa. Creo customers from all over the world won all four regional Printer of the Year awards as well as the overall international award at a gala event hosted by the South African paper manufacturer Sappi. Creo customer Anderson Lithograph of Los Angeles, CA, USA was named the Sappi 2004 International Printer of the Year, in addition to the Sappi 2004 North American Printer of the Year. Anderson Lithograph has been a Creo customer for many years, using a Creo Trendsetter 800 platesetter, the Prinergy workflow management system, and Staccato screening. Fontegrafica of Milan, Italy, the 2003 Sappi International Printer of the Year, was named the Sappi 2004 European Printer of the Year. They use the Creo Trendsetter 800, Prinergy, and the Synapse InSite Internet portal into prepress. Pragati Offset Pvt Ltd. of Hyderabad, India was named 2004 Trading Partner of the Year. Pragati used their Creo Trendsetter 800 with Brisque workflow system to win multiple awards in the Asian region. The first Creo user on the African continent, Ultra Litho of Johannesburg, South Africa, was named the 2004 Sappi African Printer of the Year. Creo customers were also among the finalists for Sappi Printer of the Year awards, winning gold at the Sappi awards in their respective regions earlier this year. L.P. Thebault of Parsippany, NJ, USA used Creo Staccato 20 micron screening and a Creo Spectrum proofer to create its award-winning annual report entry. Paarl Web of Cape Town, South Africa, used the Brisque workflow to capture a gold award in the African magazines category. Awarded gold in Australasia, Offset Alpine Printing of Lidcombe, Australia uses Creo Staccato screening. Nampak Cartons and Labels of Pinetown, South Africa, a Prinergy Powerpack workflow user, captured the gold award in the African packaging and labels category.
