Friday, February 22, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

ANDOVER, Mass. Feb 21 2008 - Omtool, Ltd., a leading provider of document capture and handling solutions, today announced an alliance partnership with Canon U.S.A. This partnership includes the certified compatibility of Omtool's AccuRoute solutions with Canon imageFORMULA ScanFront 220 and 220P models.

The companies will jointly market and promote the compatibility of AccuRoute and imageFORMULA ScanFront networking scanning devices to their respective sales channels. The combination of Omtool's AccuRoute solution and Canon imageFORMULA ScanFront can help law firms, hospitals, financial organizations, and many other paper-intensive businesses capture, convert, and distribute paper documents into virtually any electronic format and to any destination including fax, popular document repositories, and network folders.

According to Mark Machida, senior director, Image Filing Systems Division, Canon U.S.A., "The use of the AccuRoute solution can be a cost-effective way to convert scanned documents into any electronic format and distribute them to multiple destinations — simultaneously. When used in conjunction with Canon scanners, Omtool's AccuRoute provides a powerful distributed capture option for our customers, an important offering as the point of capture gets closer and closer to the point of creation."

"Canon has always been known for its innovative, flexible scanning products, and we are very pleased to deliver our document capture and routing capabilities using AccuRoute and these Canon ScanFront scanners to current and new customers," said Robert L. Voelk, Omtool's chairman, president, and chief executive officer.
