Imagine Print Group and Universal Press Merge

Chicago, IL, October 2004— Two highly regarded and award-winning Chicago area print firms—Imagine Print Group and Universal Press—have merged to form U&I Print Communications. The new company occupies the 107,000 square-foot former Universal Press facility in Niles, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, and provides complete offset and digital printing services to clients. The combined organization is headed by President and COO Rick Baruch (former CEO of Imagine Print Group), Executive Vice President Lance Luka (former Vice President of Sales for Imagine Sales Group), and Chairman Jory Siegel (former President of Universal Press). In announcing the merger, U&I Print Communications Executive Vice President Lance Luka commented: “With the formation of U&I Print Communications, Chicago area clients can utilize our full range of creative services, offset and digital Printing, complete bindery service, and fulfillment solutions, all under one roof. U&I Print Communications offers customers one of the largest and most versatile sheetfed printing facilities in the Midwest, with plans to expand all printing and service areas in 2004 and 2005.” U&I Print Communications was formed in 2004 through the merger of Universal Press and the Imagine Print Group. The company operates a wide range of conventional lithographic (up to 6-color, 40-inch) and digital printing presses under one roof in the Chicago suburb of Niles, Illinois.
