Oce Reorganizes Sales Organization Along Market Segment Lines

CHICAGO, Oct. 28 -- Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, today announced the realignment of the sales department of the Digital Document Systems division in the U.S. to reflect specialization in key market segments. Daniel S. Powell has been appointed Senior Vice President of Sales for the Digital Document Systems division of Oce North America, reporting to Malkon S. Baboyian, President of the DDS division. Reporting to Dan will be four Vice Presidents responsible for different market segments. Michael J. Roberts will be Vice President of Sales for Corporate and Commercial Accounts, Robert M. Berman will be Vice President of Sales for Graphic Arts, Bryan W. Beauchamp will be Vice President of Sales for the Public Sector, and John H. Forbes will be Vice President of Alternate Channels. Dominic Caputo will be Vice President of Strategic Accounts, reporting to DDS President Mal Baboyian. These appointments are effective December 1, 2004. "This change represents the final step in our evolution to a solutions- focused, market segmented sales organization from our previous geographic organization," commented Mr. Powell in making the announcement. "We have been refining our expertise in delivering solutions addressing the requirements of the vertical market segments Oce serves. The new organization will streamline our delivery of these solutions to the marketplace." Because of the importance of customer relationships at the account manager level, this organizational change does not require sales representatives to change account assignments. In most cases, sales representatives were already specialized by segments but organized by region. The new organization realigns reporting relationships purely on market segment lines. The Oce solution bundles have been bolstered by the recent introduction of several innovative printer and software products. These additions to the Oce VarioStream and Oce VarioPrint printer lines and to the Oce PRISMA software family provide new alternatives in the transaction printing, mailing, commercial printing, and corporate in-plant printing environments. This new organization and these products will help Oce more directly engage these markets. Dan Powell joined Oce in 2003 as Senior Vice President for the Western Region. Powell is an industry veteran who has held a number of senior executive and general management positions with Xerox and Toshiba. Mike Roberts has been with Oce for 18 years, most recently serving as Vice President of Sales for the Central Region. Bob Berman continues as Vice President of Graphic Arts sales, a role he assumed upon joining Oce earlier this year. John Forbes joined Oce from Xerox in 1986. He has been Vice President of Strategic Accounts in the Oce Central Marketing department. Dom Caputo has been Vice President of the DDS Eastern Region and has been a leader in the Oce sales organization for nearly 20 years.
