DALLAS--Oct. 25, 2004-- Xplor International today announced the recipient of Xplor's first Founders Award. New for this year, the Xplor Founder's Award recognizes individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves through dedication and support of the electronic document industry and Xplor International. On behalf of Xerox Corporation Quincy L. Allen, president of Xerox's Production Systems Group, who was recently named to his new position in early October, accepted the award at Xplor's ceremony Sunday night.
"I'm honored to accept Xplor's Founder's Award," said Quincy Allen, president of Xerox's Production Systems Group. As a representative of Xerox, who twenty-five years ago founded Xplor and who has continued to support both the organization and their annual conference, I am delighted to see how Xplor has emerged to become a premier venue for education and IT knowledge."
Allen leads the worldwide development and marketing of color and monochrome systems, including the Xerox iGen3(TM) Digital Production Press as well as the Nuvera, DocuPrint and DocuColor product lines. He also oversees Xerox's FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection of software, hardware, and related offerings. Since joining Xerox as an electrical engineer in 1982, he has held senior technical and management positions in areas such as supply chain, sales and marketing, and product development. He succeeds the late Gilbert J. Hatch who served as president of the group from Jan.1, 2003, until his death Aug. 26, 2004.
