Canon Imaging Systems Group Selects VeriTest for Alliance Partner

Press release from the issuing company

WALTHAM, Mass. and LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Oct. 19 -- Lionbridge Technologies, today announced that its VeriTest testing division has been selected by Canon U.S.A., Inc., the nation's market share brand leader in black-and-white and color laser copier/printer solutions(i), to provide software and hardware compatibility testing services for Canon U.S.A.'s Imaging Systems Group Alliance and Industry Marketing Program. Expanding the longstanding relationship between Lionbridge and Canon U.S.A.'s Imaging Systems Group, Lionbridge's VeriTest division now provides the digital imaging leader with independent, controlled laboratory testing to verify the basic compatibility and interoperability of leading third-party software applications with Canon's imageRUNNER and CLC printer/copier devices. Program participants successfully passing the VeriTest evaluation will be eligible for marketing as "Canon Compatible" solutions in the United States. "As copier technology evolves and businesses require solutions that can seamlessly integrate printing, copying, scanning and faxing needs into the company's network and organizational workflow, it becomes critical to publicly validate the compatibility of third-party solutions with our copiers and related devices," said Dennis Amorosano, director and general manager, Integrated Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "Gaining this validation from the industry's most respected independent testing organization underscores our commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality and reliability for our customers." VeriTest will define a set of test configurations that contain a variety of digital office scenarios and combinations -- including printer, print driver, operating systems, server, network configurations, print applications and third party software. The objective of the testing is to verify the basic compatibility of selected third-party applications in specific network environments with Canon imageRUNNER and CLC devices and various copier MFP (Multi-Function Product) configurations. VeriTest has also recently completed its initial compatibility assessment of popular wireless platforms and applications with Canon imageRUNNER and CLC devices. "Canon U.S.A.'s Imaging Systems Group customers are continuously looking beyond the individual copier device, focusing on the workflow processes that carry business-critical information throughout their organizations. By leveraging VeriTest's proven industry reputation and expertise, Canon U.S.A. can now validate a broad range of applications with a view towards seamless interoperability, basic compatibility and reliability with Canon devices for the best business solutions," said Rory Cowan, CEO, Lionbridge. "This certification will give customers the peace of mind that they are getting the most from their investment in Canon hardware and leading industry software."
