Creo Proofing Solutions Achieve New Standards Of Cost Reduction And Color Accuracy

Press release from the issuing company

GRAPH EXPO 2004 CHICAGO -- October 15, 2004 -- Creo Inc. is demonstrated at Graph Expo proofing solutions that decrease costs and provide an unparalleled level of color consistency. Creo demonstrated the innovative Veris(tm) proofer with open connectivity to other vendors' workflow systems, and the Integris(tm) 800 proofer with fast file transfer from the Brisque workflow system, and the ability to reliably print double-sided proofs. Creo proofing solutions support fast-paced production environments by delivering accurate color with maximum flexibility. Veris Sets a New Standard for Quality Proofing... The revolutionary Veris proofer produces high-quality, repeatable proofs that accurately predict the final printed job. "Veris customers are realizing significant cost-per-proof savings over other contract proofing systems," says Brad Palmer, Creo corporate vice president, inkjet printing. "Creo delivers premium proofing quality with the Veris that was previously found only in much more expensive proofing systems. Veris meets the most demanding color needs and is qualified to many color standards, including SWOP." The new version of the Veris proofer features open connectivity and can easily process third-party PDF and PostScript files. This version of the Veris includes a RIP and provides complete ICC workflow support including spot color handling. The Veris saves valuable time with its automated, error-reducing Creo Certified Process(tm). The Creo Certified Process automatically verifies that the proofer's calibration is correct and current, that the correct color profile is used, and that the specified ink and media are loaded to provide customers with a visual assurance of the integrity of the Veris proofing process. Printers Realize Cost Savings and Accurate Color with Integris... The Integris proofing solution integrates leading inkjet printers from EPSON into Creo workflow and color control to produce affordable proofing solutions in several formats. The now-available Double-Sided Media Guide provides reliable, affordable, efficient manual 2-sided printing on EPSON printers. This saves on production costs and results in quicker turnaround times for double-sided proofs. Printers are saving time with faster file transfers using the Brisque Proofing Agent, which optimizes connectivity between Integris and the Brisque workflow system from Creo. This allows printers to take advantage of improved color management in Brisque for enhanced color performance and integrity. The Brisque Proofing Agent is available now as a free downloadable patch for existing Integris proofing installations. The new Integris Desktop proofer features the 17-inch wide EPSON Stylus Pro 4000 printer, integrated with Creo workflow for maximum end-to-end color control. Now available in North America, the Integris Desktop proofer is well suited for small enterprises and remote proofing applications, enabling the checking of color and content earlier in the creative cycle. Fine-Tuned Color with Creo Color Services... Creo Color Services provide remote or onsite custom ICC color profiling services to ensure optimum color target simulation with the Veris and Integris inkjet proofers. Proofing demonstrations of the Creo Veris and Integris with the Double-Sided Media Guide were conducted at Graph Expo at the Creo booth. Images available at www.creo.com/imagebank
