KBA North America and Unimac Graphics Sign Major Deal at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

KBA North America, a leading sheetfed offset press manufacturer based in Williston, Vt., and Unimac Graphics, a leading commercial printer located in Carlstadt, NJ, have announced an agreement today in which Unimac will purchase two new KBA presses: a KBA Rapida 142 56-inch eight-color plus coater and perfector large-format sheetfed press as well as a KBA Rapida 105 41-inch eight-color perfector with tower coater. This will be Unimac’s third and fourth KBA presses. “After visiting the KBA booth at Drupa and seeing their presentation, we decided that we wanted to take another step forward and partner with KBA once again,” says George Amann, Unimac’s present. “We feel that the KBA Rapida 142 56-inch is a perfect fit for our company and will allow us to continue to serve our customers. It is a press filled with the latest automation and will give our company the ability to provide faster throughput and increased productivity to our customers.” Unimac Graphics is no stranger to the benefits of utilizing KBA presses. In 1999, the firm installed a 64-inch six-color KBA Rapida 162A sheetfed perfector with in-line UV coater. Three years later, the firm installed a six-color KBA Compacta 215 16-page heatset web offset press, the first such KBA web press to be installed in the United States. It came online in February of 2003. It is producing book covers, direct mail, posters, publications and pharmaceutical materials to go with its roster of traditional products such as financial printing, point-of-purchase retail and high-end corporate communications. Currently, the company generates $63 million in annual sales backed by an employee work force of 225. Unimac boasts 146,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its Carlstadt, NJ campus, which has served as the company's home since September of 1999. Created by the combination of Union Graphics and MacNaughton Einson Graphics, Unimac Graphics has over 100 years of experience and reliability. The firm offers “one stop shopping” for the vast majority of printing projects including but not limited to: outdoor advertising, point of purchase displays, in-store signing, direct mail components, pharmaceutical and healthcare inserts and collateral material, catalogs, booklets, pads, brochures and hang tags. “KBA is proud to be a long-standing partner with Unimac Graphics and its customers,” says Ralf Sammeck, president and CEO of KBA North America. “Over the years, both our sheetfed and web presses have helped Unimac to be a leader in its field. Our new Rapida 142 sheetfed press will add to their success.”
