Rampage Remote 1.4 adds ICC-enabled softproofing

Press release from the issuing company

Rampage Systems, Booth 4466, Graph Expo ’04 – Rampage showed Version 1.4 of Rampage Remote, an Internet-based system for proofing and collaboration. Integrated with the Rampage workflow, Rampage Remote has no usage fees based on number of transactions, concurrent users, file size, or any other variable. Features recently added to Rampage Remote include: ICC-enabled softproofing - Calibrated monitors can view accurate color information, thus expanding the range of contract proofing applications through Rampage Remote. Book display - The system automatically converts printer’s spreads into reader’s spreads and presents reviewers with a virtually book, while still allowing pages to be reviewed individually. Dynamic annotation – Instead of using Rampage Remote to see reviewers’ comments, production personnel can open annotated files directly in the Rampage workflow. Job Stages - For example, within a project, one stage could be Loose Pages, another is Book View, and another is Final Okay. Rampage Remote is sold for a fixed price of $16,000 including a preconfigured web server platform. It allows print buyers to approve, reject, or communicate changes on files. The system logs the date, time, and author of all “transactions” to avoid disputes and keeps revision history to allow reviewers to toggle between iterations of a file.
