KPG Color Management Tools Power New Artwork Systems’ Nexus Workflow

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, Illinois, USA — Motivated to help printers achieve consistent and predictable color throughout the workflow, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) and Artwork Systems Inc. are showing at Graph Expo the Artwork Systems Nexus V8 Workflow with KPG color management tools and RealTimeProof online proofing technology. KPG will integrate this workflow into its computer-to-plate (CtP) and proofing solutions including the KPG Matchprint ProofPro Inkjet Proofing System and the Kodak Approval Digital Halftone Proofing System. “Integrating KPG’s color management into Artwork Systems’ market leading Nexus workflow significantly improves customer control in creating accurate and consistent color from concept to output,” said Vic Stalam, Corporate Vice President, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, KPG. “Easy to use and highly automated, the Artworks Systems Nexus V8 workflow helps customers meet increased demand for higher color integrity and faster turnaround time.” Initially available in the United States and Canada, the Artworks Systems Nexus V8 workflow with KPG color management tools delivers improved color conversions, color matching accuracy, and improved stability in color output on supported computer-to-plate (CtP) and proofing output devices. The new workflow marks the first product from the KPG / Artwork Systems Group NV partnership formed at drupa. “This latest workflow reflects our commitment to providing our customers with the best software solutions,” said Guido van der Schueren, Chairman of the Board, Artwork Systems Group NV. “By giving our customers access to KPG color management expertise, we can help them achieve color consistency and control across their production workflow — site to site and day to day.” The Artwork Systems Nexus V8 Workflow also interfaces to the KPG RealTimeProof online proofing solutions. The RealTimeProof technology is the leading suite of web-based proofing solutions, providing accurate image quality for monitor and remote proofing. Using a breakthrough proprietary streaming technology, high-resolution files can be viewed in seconds, even over a dial-up connection. Users need only a web browser on a Mac or PC and a free downloadable plug-in to proof their original files from anywhere, at any time.
