(October 5, 2004) IPA, The Association of Graphic Solutions Providers, has received the Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) 2004 Excellence in Education Award for Innovation in Continuing Education for IPA's highly-acclaimed Webinar Program. IPA Web-based training programs allow participants to attend training and educational programs without incurring travel costs or time away, thus allowing companies to provide efficient and more cost effective training and educational programs for their employees. IPA Webinars are broadcast live using Web and audio conferencing technology, allowing attendees to participate from their desktop or conference room. Webinars are archived and available for purchase on CD or downloaded from the IPA Website www.ipa.org. Congratulating IPA on the Association's innovative use of the Web, Jeanne Mowlds, EDSF executive director said, "It's important that the work of industry educators and their programs receive appreciation and recognition. What is being taught today shapes our industry professionals for the future. And because we are in very dynamic, ever-changing times, innovation is key." Commenting on the recognition, Steve Bonoff, IPA president, said, "One of IPA's primary missions is to provide innovative and meaningful education and training for its membership and the graphic communication industry as a whole, and we are honored that EDSF has recognized our Association for the value and importance of IPA's Webinar programs." Since its inception in 2002, thousands of industry professionals have benefited from IPA Webinar programs, embracing management, sales, operational, and financial issues. Topics have ranged from color management, variable data printing, PDF, and remote proofing to creative services, standards, OS X, JDF and fulfillment. IPA Webinars are produced by David Haradon, IPA Webinar director, who works with IPA TEAMs to determine and develop program content based on member needs. Haradon remarked, "IPA remains committed to providing the industry with the highest quality content delivered in the most effective and efficient manner. We appreciate the recognition of IPA's Webinar programs, which are the result of the cumulative efforts of IPA's membership, expert presenters and supplier members. We are dedicated to continuing our excellent programming content in order to provide the industry with our unique web-based educational efforts, thereby helping everyone become more successful in their businesses." The 2004 Excellence in Education Awards are sponsored by leading corporations in the graphic communication industry, including IBM Printing Systems, Hewlett-Packard Company, and The Xerox Corporation.
