Founded in 1968, the award-winning Graphic Communications World newsletter has been published twice monthly by Esler since its acquisition from John Werner in July of 2002 who purchased The Green Sheet from its founder Art Gardner in 1990. Graphic Communications World provides a continuous high-level overview report of the transitions of technology in the graphic communications field, edited for senior industry executives, educators, and managers the world over. It covers the full spectrum of new media and publishing technology, beginning with the automation of page composition, the evolution of high-speed sheet fed, web offset, flexography, digital presses, and the movement toward digital workflow standards. The developing importance of computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) for the printing industry has been a special editorial focus. Graphic Communications World is also known for concise reviews of numerous industry conferences and keynotes.
"I'm proud to carry on the tradition and maintain the style, tone, and attitude of the newsletter started by founder Art Gardner in 1968, continued by both John Werner and Bill Esler," said Jeanette Clinkunbroomer, Graphic Communications World's new editor-in-chief. "Bill has done an excellent job of expanding the newsletter's editorial coverage, as well as delivery modes -- his shoes will be hard to fill."
