The PRO-MAIL Fulfillment Solution: New Address Validation & Correction Feature

Press release from the issuing company

ROCKY HILL, CT — SEPTEMBER 21, 2004 — Software Marketing Associates, Inc. (SMA) announced the availability of its Address Validation & Correction capability for its flagship product, The PRO-MAIL Fulfillment Solution. This enhancement ensures that domestic orders processed through the software system are shipped to valid addresses. The service also allows for address correction and assignment of Zip+4 postal codes. Licensees of The PRO-MAIL Fulfillment solution can expect to realize cost savings in several key areas including reductions in address correction fees assessed by shippers and a decrease in handling costs associated with returns processing and customer service. In addition, fulfillment providers will raise the level of service they provide their clients by improving delivery success rates. According to SMA Vice President, Eric Howard, “In terms of reduced carrier surcharges alone, the implications for cost savings are enormous. Some carriers assign a surcharge of $5 or more for every address correction made.” The new feature works by validating addresses against The United States Postal Service database. Internet orders are validated on-line, in real-time. Batches of electronic orders can also be validated and corrected. Companies utilizing the service will receive updated databases on a bi-monthly basis. The new feature is affordably priced at $1,200 per year and will be available November. Since 1981, the PRO-MAIL System from Software Marketing Associates, Inc. has been helping companies manage their fulfillment service and direct mail projects. Built using the most advanced technology available, this comprehensive, browser-based software system was developed to meet the needs of printers, direct mailers, fulfillment service providers and their clients.
