ICS Unveils RDV3 Monitor-Based Contract Proofing

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY; September 20th 2004 -- Integrated Color Solutions (ICS) -- the technology leader in providing monitor color proofing solutions -- today announced Remote Director(TM) 3.0 (RDV3), a new version of its SWOP(R) Certified monitor-based contract proofing system that applies advanced color management to assure and verify color accuracy for every monitor in a proofing session. RDV3 will be available October 2004. Remote Director version 3.0 is the first monitor-based contract proofing system capable of providing color accuracy on both Macintosh and Windows-based computers. Cross-platform capabilities enable the software to seamlessly communicate and successfully display accurate color across any platform combination. In addition, RDV3's added features enable a smooth and fluid workflow from concept to print for users worldwide, and in any language. French, Spanish, German, Chinese are planned initially, and localization for other languages will be accommodated. "Remote Director version 3.0 builds upon our vision of a flexible and cost effective color proofing system, designed to be used from digital image capture, through design and approval, and all the way to the pressroom," said John Sweeney, ICS Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "I feel we have accomplished our goal by creating a more intelligent and more versatile monitor-based proofing solution." "The multi-platform option and localization capability opens the door to an entire world of users who are eager to shift towards an all-digital workflow," added Jeffrey Silverman, ICS President and CEO. "RDV3 meets the demands of agencies, their clients and printers by allowing each of them to view color-accurate proofs with confidence across all platforms and languages worldwide." Like its predecessor, version 3.0 will download directly from www.icscolor.com, and integrates into any digital proofing workflow within minutes. Remote Director 3.0 works directly with digital asset or content management systems, supports both RGB & CMYK workflows and uses industry standard International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles. Remote Director also supports a multiplicity of file formats including TIFF, PDF, EPS, JPG and all Photoshop images. "Editing is an integral part of any proofing process and Remote Director 3.0's flexibility to post proofs from any workstation, and onscreen ergonomics has eliminated steps in the proofing process increasing productivity and reducing turnaround times for our clients," said Steve Carusone, Quality Assurance Manager at Concept Imaging Group in Dayton, Ohio. "ICS has done a great job customizing Remote Director based on its customers' needs." "In our business the ability to organize proofs into hierarchal folder structures, an option our catalog customers have requested, is invaluable," said John Schroeder, CPS Director at International Color Services, Scottsdale, Arizona. "ICS listened, and this feature, as well as their new Scatter-proof feature, will allow us to greatly expand our use of Remote Director."
