Sun Chemical chooses executive to lead narrow-web offering in North America

NORTHLAKE, IL - Aug. 31, 2004 - Sun Chemical, the world’s foremost ink manufacturer, has named Chuck Shuty as Director of Narrow Web Products for Sun Chemical North American Inks. Shuty will lead the U.S. introduction of Solaris, its new global product line of inks and coatings formulated to meet the needs of narrow-web printers. Solaris will be launched at Label Expo Americas 2004, to be held Sept. 13-16 in Rosemont, IL. "In this newly created role, Chuck will help establish Sun Chemical as a major player in the Narrow Web Label market," said Michael Murphy, President, Sun Chemical North American Inks. "Currently, our Narrow Web products are offered by several Sun Chemical business units. Chuck will coordinate these resources into a focused, dedicated effort to serve this growing market." "We intend to make Solaris the narrow web printer’s ink supplier of choice by offering unparalleled value," Shuty said. "Through the combined resources of Sun Chemical, Kohl & Madden and Coates Screen, we will deliver best-in-class products and service." Shuty began with Sun Chemical in 2003 as Director of Sales, Publication Inks. Before joining Sun Chemical, he had 17 years of sales and management experience with such companies as Nalco, Valspar and Akzo Nobel Inks.
