Roll Systems Announces Appointment Of William Carroll As President

Burlington, MA (August 30, 2004)--- Roll Systems Inc., a 100% owned company of BÖWE SYSTEC International GmbH, announced today that William Carroll has been appointed President of Roll Systems Inc., effective immediately. A nine year employee of Roll, Mr. Carroll most recently held the position of Vice President of Engineering and Operations. Earlier he held the position of Vice President International for Sales and Marketing. Prior to Roll, Mr. Carroll spent 14 years with Digital Equipment Corporation, with six of those years being in international assignments in Hong Kong and Japan. Co-founder and former Roll President, George McKenna, will remain to assist Mr. Carroll and Roll through a transition period ending December 2004. He will then leave the company to pursue other interests. BÖWE SYSTEC International GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of BÖWE SYSTEC AG acting as holding company for some of BÖWE SYSTEC´s international activities especially in the US. BÖWE SYSTEC AG is one of the world's largest suppliers for paper-management systems for high-volume mail processing. In 2003, BÖWE SYSTEC group sales totaled a record EUR 346 million of which more than 50% was generated in North America. BÖWE SYSTEC group worldwide employment totaled 2,662 at June 30, 2004. BÖWE SYSTEC´s shares are publicly traded in Germany. Founded in 1987, Roll Systems is North America's largest manufacturer of high-speed paper handling, converting and monitoring systems for digital printers. In 2004, it is experiencing a strong rebound in sales, with an expected $29 million in revenue for the year. Roll employed some 100 people on June 30, 2004.
