Press release from the issuing company

ARLINGTON, Va. (August 20, 2004) — “If only I’d known.” How many times have you wished for more on-the-job information or even uttered those words? Print Buyers Online.com understands your frustrations and is hosting two important “Now You Know” seminars that will help you understand more about what you do, so you can do it better, faster and more economically. “We will shed light on the concepts behind today's print technologies in one fascinating, yet easily comprehendible, day,” explains Suzanne Morgan, founder and editor of Print Buyers Online.com (PBO), a free, educational e-community for print buyers. “You will walk away with actionable knowledge that will give you power to be better at what you do, better at how you communicate and more certain about how you make decisions.” The one-day “Now You Know” seminars, which are the first in a series of educational road shows sponsored by PBO, aim to demystify the various technologies and identify the best practices in the printing industry today. The seminars are being held in Washington, D.C. and Chicago on Sept. 8th and Sept. 28th, respectively, and space is limited. The full agenda for these seminars is available at www.printbuyersonline.com/NowYouKnow_conf.asp. The “Now You Know” seminars will identify the latest trends in print buying, featuring PBO’s independent research, and will help you understand the basics of digital imaging technology, including a crash course on PostScript, RIPs, desktop publishing programs and much more. The seminars also offer comprehensive instruction on what print buyers need to know in order to be successful in print buying today as well as a guide to selecting the appropriate printing methods for each job. The sessions will be conducted by PBO’s Morgan and Harry Waldman, a former owner of a large commercial printing company that now works as a consultant to several large corporations. In addition to founding Print buyers Online.com, Morgan is president of Print Solutions, a consulting company to the printing industry, and has trained more than 4,500 print buyers and specifiers and 2,000 sales representatives and managers in her seminars and customized training programs. She has the unique experience of seeing the printing industry from each side – having insights from being both a print buyer and a print sales representative. Her advice is frequently published in industry trade publications and she is a speaker at industry conferences, associations and production clubs. In addition to his experience in running a commercial printing company known for its technological leadership, Waldman works with a variety of corporations and organizations, instructing them on how to make better use of the technologies available today. His is also an author and his book, Computer Color Graphics, simplifies the comprehension of digital technologies. He also writes columns for leading industry publications such as Printing Impressions and Print Buyers Online.com. The cost for attending for the “Now You Know” seminars is $169 per person, or $149 if registering more than one person from the same organization at the same time. The seminars are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and include a one-hour break for lunch. The Washington D.C. seminar will be held at the Westin Embassy Row – Dupont Circle, while the Chicago seminar is scheduled to take place at the W Hotel – Lakeshore.
