PIA-MidAmerica Creates Digital Printers Forum

PIA-MidAmerica, the PIA/GATF affiliate serving Kansas, Western Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas has created the Digital Printing Roundtable to serve companies in this specialized print technology. An Association committee of digital print specialists were instrumental in helping direct the efforts of the organization to begin the process of serving this portion of the print community. Committee members included: Al Hall, Hall Digital Imaging, Dallas; Bart Spanjersberg, Ginny’s, Austin; Carl Byrd, LaserCopy – Digital Print Solutions, Arlington; David Torok, Padgett Printing Corporation, Dallas; Jan Fairless, Odyssey Digital Printing, Tulsa; John Cockrell, Jr., en-ovation group, Fort Worth; Mike Stevens, Action Copy, Lubbock; Pete Daly, Digital Document Services, Carrollton; and Tom VanGoethem, On Demand Technologies, Overland Park. The Digital Printing Roundtable will begin meeting in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with the first meeting date on August 26th. This meeting will feature Frank McPherson, owner of Custom Data Imaging Corporation in Ontario. McPherson will share the highlights and lowlights of building his digital printing business. Subsequent meetings will deal with database and technology topics. The Roundtable participants will receive a variety of specialized educational services from the Association and have access to several newly created services providing contact with database experts as well as networking opportunities to help expand their business and technical knowledge.
