Standard Register and Vision Objects Partner to Cut Costs in Form Processing Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

Dayton, OH and Nantes-France (August 10, 2004)--When two leaders enter a business relationship, chances of success are inevitably higher. That explains why Standard Register, a leading information solutions company, and Vision Objects, a leader in handwriting recognition, have decided to work together on a new generation of professional solutions for forms processing. Standard Register's ExpeData solution uses digital pen and paper based on Anoto functionality. The pen captures handwritten information simply and naturally when users fill out digital forms. By docking the pen, the data is sent to a PC or a server where it is converted into digital text using MyScript handwriting recognition software from Vision Objects. The data becomes immediately available to back-end applications. MyScript is a customizable tool integrating numerous features to optimize recognition accuracy. To address the specifics in writing styles and languages, Vision Objects has developed localized versions of MyScript in multiple languages. MyScript also proposes lexicons and data formats for specific vertical markets and applications. The combination of a specific recognizer for characters and the use of lexical resources results in a high accuracy rate, allowing for significant cost savings. “In combining the experience of our two companies and with our established position in the market, we have all the ingredients necessary to bring high-ROI digital forms processing solutions to our customers and channel partners,” says Larry Forman, Standard Register's, Vice President, Corporate Development. “The smart integration of MyScript technology into Standard Register's powerful end-to-end form processing solution brings efficiency and cost savings to data capture automation in many industries,” says Franck Bennardi, Vision Objects, Vice President Sales and Marketing. “Working with Standard Register, a leader in the US forms processing market, is a great opportunity for us.” Standard Register and Vision Objects will continue working together to stay at the forefront of forms processing solutions.
