Kugler-Womako and schäfer-etiketten to cooperate in the field of labeling technology

Press release from the issuing company

Wolfschlugen and Nürtingen, Germany; August 6, 2004 – Germany-based label and packaging materials manufacturer schäfer-etiketten, and Kugler-Womako, a Körber PaperLink company, today announced they plan to cooperate in the field of labeling technology. According to the plan, schäfer-etiketten intends to stop the manufacture and sales of its labeling machines business at schäfer-etiketten in order to expand its core business of manufacturing and printing self-adhesive labels and packaging materials. Kugler-Womako is planning to incorporate the Combina labeling machine series from schäfer-etiketten into its own product line-up and to manufacture, sell and further develop it in the existing company organization at its own cost. The companies will work together to provide the full measure of customer support, from labeling systems planning and application to supplying spare parts for the substantial number of Combina labeling machines and systems already installed. This co-operation enables schäfer-etiketten and Kugler-Womako to offer their customers a broad range of labeling technologies as well as complete labeling systems solutions. The proximity of the two companies – only four kilometers apart – can only aid the co-operation in the projects. For over 40 years, Kugler-Womako has been a well-established supplier of machines and services to the paper converting industry. As a Körber PaperLink company, Kugler-Womako benefits from the synergies within the group in the fields of research and development as well as sales and materials procurement. Körber PaperLink is part of the Körber Group employing approximately 8,000 people worldwide and with a turnover of around 1.3 billion Euros.
