New "How To" Manual From Mohawk For Printing on Uncoated Paper

Press release from the issuing company

[Cohoes, NY] – For years now, the graphic arts industry has seen a major trend towards the use of uncoated paper. Paper specifiers often turn to uncoated paper for annual reports, advertising inserts and corporate collateral. Uncoated papers can be soft, luxurious, bringing understated elegance and a unique hand to any design. But for some clients, uncoated papers can be a difficult sell, especially when they are used to the crisp, bright appearance of coated papers. But what if there was an uncoated premium paper that met the most discriminating client’s need for detail and resolution? Mohawk’s proprietary Inxwell technology was developed to meet this challenge. Inxwell is a patented process developed by Mohawk Paper Mills in 1995 to enhance the printability of uncoated papers. Papers made with Mohawk Inxwell technology have the characteristic look and feel of premium uncoated paper but feature improved print performance and high opacity. Mohawk’s new book, Run With Inxwell, was created to provide designers, printers, print buyers and clients with the information needed to understand, specify and print on Mohawk’s Inxwell papers. Designed by VSA Partners, this users manual features informational sections on the history of Inxwell, print demonstrations and hints for how to successfully use the technology. “Many paper specifiers are faced with the problem of producing sharp, high-contrast product photography on the soft, absorbent surface of traditional uncoated papers,” notes Mohawk’s Vice President of Marketing Communications, Laura Shore. “Run With Inxwell helps paper specifiers to familiarize themselves with Inxwell papers and learn how the technology can enhance their printing projects.” Designers for some of the world’s most recognized companies such as BP, Coca Cola and IBM have chosen Inxwell papers for their most important corporate communications.
