RR Donnelley Awarded $70 Million Multi-Year Contract by Publishing Group of America

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, Aug. 4 -- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company has been awarded a multi-year contract by Publishing Group of America for the printing and distribution of more than 6 million copies per week of its American Profile magazine. On-site premedia services will also be provided, bringing the total value of this agreement to over $70 million. Stephen Duggan, Chief Operating Officer, Publishing Group of America, stated, "In RR Donnelley, we were able to find a partner who had the production platform and logistics expertise to provide a customized manufacturing and distribution plan, which allowed us to significantly reduce our cycle time and maximize efficiencies. Their ability to provide on-site premedia services allows us to work with a single supplier, which strengthens the relationship. We are confident that we have made the right choice in selecting a printer who can support both our current needs and our future growth." John Paloian, Group President, Publishing & Retail Services, RR Donnelley, added, "We are always delighted when customers such as Publishing Group of America recognize the inherent value of awarding us the entire production of their magazine, from premedia to printing to distribution. This provides the opportunity to optimize the complete production process, and to reduce the time needed for a publisher to bring their product to market. Enhancing the timeliness of magazines versus other media remains a primary focus within our own operation." RR Donnelley will produce this work in its Reno, Nev., and Gallatin, Tenn., plants.
