Padgett Printing Plays Christmas in July

Press release from the issuing company

DALLAS–(August 3, 2004)–Padgett Printing played Santa on July 23, 2004 at the annual “Christmas in July” event held at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC). This is the fifth year for the event, and Padgett has become an integral part of the tradition. TSRHC patients and their families joined staff members and volunteers in an effort to spark the children’s creativity in the design of the hospital’s holiday cards for the 2004 season. Three designs created by the children during “Christmas in July” will be used. Padgett Printing sponsored Santa and his helper elf for the event. President and CEO, David Torok, drove Santa’s Elf, Jolly Holly, and Plant Manager Rick Olsen drove Santa to the event in Torok’s Christmas-red Vipers. Santa and Jolly Holly smiled and waved at everyone. The striking parade brought smiles to surprised Dallasites on a hot summer day. Since 1987, TSRHC patients have provided artwork for the hospital’s holiday cards, which raised more than $20,000 for the hospital last year. Padgett Printing, a long-term friend and generous contributor to TSRHC, has printed the cards for several years, and will be printing the 2004 series. TSRHC is one of the nation’s leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, certain related neurological disorders and learning disabilities. There is no charge for treatment at the hospital, and admission is open to Texas children from birth to 18 years of age.
