ICS and Komori Announce Technology Partnership

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY; August 2, 2004 -- Integrated Color Solutions (ICS)--the technology leader in providing monitor color proofing solutions--today announced a strategic partnership with Komori Corporation to offer the ICS Remote Director monitor-based contract proofing Pressroom option on new Komori presses. Adding ICS's award winning monitor-based contract proofing software to a Komori press eliminates the need for print buyers to deliver, or for the printer to wait for, a hard proof at press-side--a step that is often time-consuming and costly. Komori is now offering the Remote Director Pressroom option on all new presses. The first installation of a Komori press with Remote Director software, a six color Lithrone NL28 with hybrid UV, is being dedicated in a ceremony today at GATF/PIA headquarters in Sewickley, PA. "Komori and ICS share a vision of embedding monitor proofing in the press console, meaning the only deliverable to the pressroom for a job is the plates," said John Sweeney, ICS Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The implementation of standard file formats and standard ICC profiles in a JDF workflow, coupled with the GATF InterTech Award-winning ICS Remote Director proofing system makes this possible." "Komori is known as a leader in providing complete pressroom solutions, and through this partnership with ICS, continues its philosophy of fusing print production with digital technology. We recognize the power of monitor-based contract proofing in the pressroom, and we are proud to partner with ICS, the monitor-based proofing leader, to bring this exciting technology to our customers," added Kazuyoshi "Kosh" Miyao, Komori Senior Vice President.
