Enovation Kicks Off Digital Printing Road Show

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (July 2004) – Enovation Graphic Systems, Inc. kicked off its nationwide “Unlock Your Digital Profit Center” road show recently, showing printers in Minneapolis the benefits of digital printing and how it can help their businesses’ bottom lines. As many printers know, customers’ demands have changed. Run lengths are shorter, information needs to be personalized and customers need their jobs done quicker than ever before. The experts at Enovation are showing printers how to meet the ever-changing needs of their customers and unlock their digital profit centers. Together with Xerox and Electronics for Imaging (EFI), Enovation hosted the first of its road shows at Xerox’s Minneapolis demo center. With over 80 customers representing more than 50 companies, the event provided an overview of the printing industry today and explained how digital printing is impacting it. In addition to presentations from Enovation and EFI, attendees received a full demonstration of the Xerox DocuColor 6060, running EFI’s Fiery EXP6000 RIP. Hearing from other customers already using the DocuColor 6060, attendees also gained valuable insight into how digital printing boosts their businesses. Enovation’s digital printing specialists were also on hand to provide additional information and answer questions. “Printers know they can benefit from digital printing, but they don’t know how it will integrate with their current workflow or how to sell it to their customers,” notes Tim Combs, senior vice president, sales and marketing, for Enovation. “Our experts are ready to show them how to unlock that potential and build stronger relationships with their customers. These road shows are designed to help them get started and, with the tremendous reception we received in Minneapolis, it’s clear this is what printers are looking for.” The series of nationwide road shows continues on August 3-4 in Chicago at Enovation’s demo lab and features the Xerox DocuColor 6060 running EFI’s Fiery EXP6000 RIP. There will be a morning and afternoon presentation each day of the two-day event. Attendee registration and additional information can be found at www.digitalprofitcenter.com. “Enovation has a lot of expertise in the commercial print space as well as a lot of expertise in the color management part of the industry,” comments Fred Rosenzweig, president of EFI. “Enovation has taken the [EFI] Fiery and the Xerox DocuColor 6060 and created a whole new world of color capability and integrated it directly into what commercial printers need to achieve successful output for their customers.” Today, almost anything can be printed digitally and, in many cases, more profitably and much more easily. According to a recent GAMIS report, general commercial printing was down more than $3 billion in 2003 as compared to the previous year. Direct mail pieces saw an increase of 6 percent, while printed volume was up 2 percent. There were also decreases in newspaper and magazine printing, business forms, implant printing and other trade services. The biggest area of increase, however, was in digital printing, which saw a 20 percent jump since 2002. Because of shorter run lengths, faster turnaround times and the increasing use of variable content, digital printing is the answer many in the industry are looking for. “These trends create challenges for today’s printers and mark a turning point in for the graphic arts industry,” explains Phil Kane, vice president of sales, Xerox group, for Enovation. “For some, this will be too great. For others, this will create new and lucrative opportunities. New industry needs – including proven reduced prep and make ready time, ‘proof on press’ capability for faster approval cycles and complete printing and finishing – coincide exactly with the advantages offers by digital printing services and the benefits are immediate.” Combining the Xerox and EFI products with Enovation’s experts offers customers a unique solution. In addition to its nationwide network of support and technical service, Enovation has specialists in workflow, color management and integration ready to help customers make the most of their newest investments. Road show attendees will have a chance to meet these experts and to learn how on-demand printing can help benefit their bottom line and separate them from their competition. Additionally, Enovation’s representatives will show attendees how to sell it to their customers. Enovation’s road show will also include stops in: • Boston, MA, Aug. 5-6 • Dallas, TX, Aug. 24-25 • Washington, D.C., Aug. 26-27 • Milwaukee, WI, Sept. 28-29 • Orlando, FL, Sept. 30-Oct. 1 • Philadelphia, PA, Nov. 2-3 • San Francisco, CA, Nov. 4-5 • Los Angeles, CA, Nov. 16-17 • Salt Lake City, Utah, Dec. 14-15 • Atlanta, GA, Jan. 25-26 For more information on Enovation’s Digital Printing Road Show or for the show schedule, please visit www.digitalprofitcenter.com.
