Fuji Graphic Systems Canada Offers Xerox Digital Production Colour Systems In Canada

TORONTO, July 8, 2004 – Fuji Graphic Systems Canada Inc., the leader in supply of graphic arts and digital imaging solutions in Canada, announced today that they have entered into an agreement under which Fuji will resell Xerox’s mid-range and entry-level production color digital presses in Canada. Effective July 1, 2004, Fuji Graphic Systems Canada will resell the Xerox DocuColor 3535, 5252 and 6060 digital color presses combined with the EFI Fiery color server and other prepress software including the DocuSP. In addition, Fuji Graphic Systems Canada will work with Xerox’s direct sales force to identify sales opportunities for the DocuColor iGen3 production press. The reseller agreement allows Xerox to increase the penetration of digital presses into commercial print establishments and offers Fuji Graphic Systems Canada the ability to provide customers with a complete digital printing solution. “Xerox and Fuji formed a strategic partnership in Japan over 42 years ago and continue to share a common vision for how digital print can help commercial printers become more successful,” stated Toshi Mori, Fuji Graphic Systems Canada President. “By working with Xerox Canada, we are able to help our customers become more successful as the offset and digital printing world converge.” Under the new agreement, Fuji Graphic Systems Canada will provide workflow integration for the prepress workflow software systems including the EFI Fiery color server, while Xerox will provide service and support for the digital presses. “Fuji’s extensive reach across Canada and strong relationships with commercial printers will allow us to deliver the value of Xerox digital printing to more customers,” said Doug Lord, chairman, president and CEO, Xerox Canada Ltd. “Graphic arts and commercial printing businesses can be confident they are buying the best digital products in the market from a supplier they know and trust.” Xerox Canada will also continue to sell its full range of digital colour presses and related products directly to customers. The digital workflow solutions of Fuji, Xerox and EFI will allow printing professionals to integrate digital printing into their current production operations. Operators will be able to instantly direct work to either a digital or an offset press. Prepress steps like imposition, formatting and color calibration will be automatically executed by integrated workflow.
