Press release from the issuing company

San Luis Obispo, Calif. and San Mateo, Calif. —December 30, 2003—Enfocus Software and Cal Poly announce a full site license grant for Enfocus PitStop Professional to cover all of Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Department Apple Macintosh G5 workstation seats, all of which are running the newly released Panther OS. A number of workstations will also be equipped with Enfocus PitStop Server, for high volume application scenarios. In addition to Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Department, PitStop Professional and PitStop Server will be used by the campus’ student-run printing company, student publications, and various other computer labs and areas around the Department. Graphic Communication Department Professor Mike Blum, who is project leader for PDF workflow assessment and implementation, says PitStop Professional is critical to the University’s aggressive graphic communication discipline expansion. “Cal Poly is working hard, and succeeding, at strengthening its place as not only a leading graphic communication school, but also as a definitive research and teaching facility for the profession,” says Blum. “As such, the decisions we make regarding the types of products that will serve our students and the profession best are more important than they’ve ever been. “Our vision includes PDF as playing a central role in publishing workflows and production, and it’s clear that PitStop Professional is the premier tool for insuring quality PDFs. As such, it will be mandated that graduates and participants in our programs and research projects have exposure to Enfocus PitStop Professional and PitStop Server.” PitStop Professional & PitStop Server in Graphic Communication Curricula & Campus Publications Students within the Graphic Communication program, as well as students in Art and Design and Journalism, will all have access to the PitStop Professional application.
