Agfa Monotype Adds Over 600 Products to Fonts.com from Three Foundries

Press release from the issuing company

Mortsel, Belgium– 16 December 2003 – Agfa Monotype Corp. has introduced more than 600 fonts and font packages on Fonts.com. The new collections from Cape Arcona, International TypeFounders and Martin Wait can be viewed at www.fonts.com/foundries. “Expanding our product offering has always been our top priority for Fonts.com,” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Agfa Monotype. “Our vast selection of fonts and our long list of type foundries ensure that visitors will find what they’re looking for.” Cape Arcona is a foundry headed by Thomas Schostok and Stefan Claudius, the king and president, respectively, and they’ve channelled their sense of humour into designing typefaces. For example, the movie poster lettering of the 1962 James Bond film, “Dr. No”, inspired the Cape Arcona typeface, “No Dr.”. The 22 fonts and font packages are available in Macintosh PostScript, Macintosh TrueType and Microsoft Windows TrueType platforms. Individual fonts start at $22 with volumes beginning at $26. ITF founder and designer Steve Jackaman has worked with type for more than 30 years. All 581 fonts and font packages from ITF’s Red Rooster collection are now available from Fonts.com, including the recently designed Dundee, based on children’s comic book masthead designs. The fonts and font packages are offered in Macintosh PostScript, Windows PostScript and Windows TrueType formats. Individual fonts start at $56 with volumes beginning at $106. In the 1980s, Martin Wait created display typefaces for International Typeface Corporation and Letraset that have been considered some of the decade’s most popular designs. Now with his own foundry, Wait has brought two new fonts to Fonts.com, including Tractor, a squiggly design created on a digital drawing board. The two Martin Wait fonts are available for Macintosh and Windows platforms in the TrueType format. Each font is $32.
